A National Survey on Literacy is to be conducted by the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill.
It will be undertaken during the months of October and November.
The purpose of the survey is to assess literacy skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and to gather opinions on attitudes towards literacy and how literacy impacts personal, workplace, and professional development.
The survey will be conducted across all parishes, and households will be randomly selected to participate.
Participation is voluntary, and all information collected will remain confidential.
The input of the public will contribute to an important national effort, aimed at improving literacy education for all Barbadians.
