A Government Senator is calling on aunties and grandmothers to stop hiding guns for their charges and help find solutions to arrest the existing gun violence situation.
The call is coming from the Most Honourable, Deputy President of the Senate, Elizabeth Thompson.
Making a contribution to the Senate, Senator Thompson said it is time people in society who know what is happening work with authorities to help find a remedy for the problem, instead of only asking what Government will do about it.
Senator Thompson says, despite current challenges, Barbados continues to maintain one of the lowest crime rates in the region.
