One woman had to be extracted from her vehicle by the Jaws of Life by fire officers this afternoon, after an accident involving three vehicles.
The vehicle in which she was travelling became sandwiched between a bus and a truck in the area of Prospect, St James.
As a result, the road was impassable for hours as emergency personnel worked feverishly to rescue her.
Three fire service appliances responded to the scene, under the command of Divisional Officer Marlon Small; Station Officer Damien Bayne, two sub-officers, and 12 fire officers.
The woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
