The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) has issued a Flash Flood Warning.

Shower and thunderstorm activity has increased across the island due to a tropical wave. The BMS has updated the Flash Flood Watch because cloudy to overcast conditions with moderate to heavy showers can result in flash flooding this afternoon and tonight.
There is a high chance of significant flooding, which may result in water settlements on roads and fields, which could lead to commuting delays and possible isolated diversions. Additionally, increases in water levels of existing water bodies (e.g ponds, etc.) and marginally invasive excess water on roads, fields and storm drains.
Mostly cloudy skies and moderate to heavy showers with isolated thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, as a tropical wave continues to affect the island. Rainfall accumulation between two and three inches in moderate to heavy showers is likely. Additionally, wet conditions are expected to continue into tonight.
The public should follow recommendations from the Department of Emergency Management. People are also encouraged to monitor the BMS, DEM and GIS websites and their respective social media pages along with the local media networks for further updates.
A Flash-Flood Warning is issued when flooding due to heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) is occurring or is imminent in the warning area. This Flash Flood Warning was issued at 1.15 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2025 and will be updated at 6 p.m. today or sooner if conditions warrant
.
