The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) continues to closely monitor a tropical wave located near 33W south of 15N, approximately 2800km (1740 miles) east of Barbados at 11 am today, Thursday, September 4, 2025.
The tropical wave in the central Atlantic has become slightly better organised. Model guidance is in agreement with a slow westerly motion with gradual intensification in the short term. Given the slow movement of the system, the long-term track for the system remains uncertain. Despite this, the system is forecast to track near Barbados and the eastern Caribbean towards the middle of next week. As such,
the BMS will continue to closely monitor the system’s progress over the coming days.
There are no watches or warnings in effect for Barbados associated with this system at this time.
This information statement was issued at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, September 4, 2025, and will be updated at noon tomorrow, Friday, 5th
