CMC – St. Lucian Julien Alfred has won the Women’s Olympic 100 metres final, delivering the tiny Caribbean nation its first ever medal at an Olympiad.
The 23-year-old clocked a sensational 10.72 seconds to stun reigning World champion Sha’Carri Richardson of the United States, who copped silver in 10.87.
Melissa Jefferson of the United States finished with bronze in 10.92.
