June 6, 2024

A 102-run fourth wicket partnership between player of the match Marcus Stoinis and David Warner laid the foundation for Australia to win their opening ICC Men’s T-20 World Cup Group ‘B’ match against Oman last night at Kensington Oval.

Being sent into bat, Australia posted 164 for 5, with Stoinis topscoring with 66 off 35 deliveries that included 2-fours and 6-sixes.

Warner added 56, while left arm slow bowler Mehran Khan took 2 for 38.

Oman in reply was restricted to 125 for 9 for the Aussies to win by 39 runs.

Stoinis was also impressive with the ball, taking 3 for 19.

Australia go to the top of Group ‘B’ by two points.
