Barbados’ struggles at the Youth Netball World Cup in Gibraltar continued today with a heavy defeat to Malawi.
In their final round-robin match, the Young Gems lost by a 47-goal margin.
Barbados trailed 6-7 in the first quarter and 15-35 at half time, before Malawi pulled away in the third 52-17 and then wrapped up the contest 70-23.
Pool “D” has proven to be a tough group for Team Barbados, with previous defeats to South Africa in their opening fixture, Fiji, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Since Barbados finished at the bottom of the group, they will now play for positions 17 to 20 on Saturday.
