As in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup, Pelican Village once again will be transformed into a fan zone – this time for the Barbados Royals Women’s and Men’s teams for the Caribbean Premier League.
At the zone’s launch recently, CEO of Pelican Village Mark Hill revealed that one of the main features will be a virtual cricket game.
The fan engagement drive began with a roadshow on Saturday and the Barbados Royal cricketers Nyeem Young, Kevin Wickham and Rahkeem Cornwall are looking forward to engaging with their fans.
All the Barbados Royals games will be shown in the zone.
The Women are playing in Trinidad with the remainder of their games tonight, tomorrow, and if they make the final – on the 29th.
The Royals men will start their campaign in Antigua and Barbuda against the host franchise the Falcons on September 1.
They then return home to face the Falcons on September 11 at Kensington Oval, followed by the Trinbago Knight Riders on the 13th, Guyana Amazon Warriors on the 14th and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots on the 17th.
The Men’s CPL final is set for October 6.
