Barbados’ run at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo has come to an end.
The island’s last hopeful, Tia-Adana Belle, failed to advance to the final of the women’s 400-metre hurdles.
Competing in semifinal #2 this morning Barbados time, Belle, running in the inside lane in the traditional national colours of gold and ultramarine, finished 8th in 55.83 seconds.
She did not meet the requirement of placing in the top two of her heat or being among the two non-automatic qualifiers to reach the final.
