Barbados secures 7 medals at CCCAN Champs

Team Barbados has increased its medal count to seven at the ongoing Central American & Caribbean Swimming Championships (CCCAN) in Monterrey-Mexico.

Heidi Stoute, Jaiya Simmons and Aliya Greaves were on the podium on day three.

Stoute won her third gold medal at the competition, taking the 13-14 age category in the 50-metre freestyle with a new Barbados age group record of 26.89 seconds.

Teammate Jaiya Simmons was 3rd in the same event taking the bronze in 27.59 seconds.

Jaiya came back later in the evening to gain a silver medal in the 200-metre butterfly event and then teamed up with Isabella Mayers, Toria Alleyne and Stoute to secure a silver medal in the 4×200-metre freestyle relay.

Barbados now has three gold, two silver and two bronze medals at the event.
