An impressive five-wicket haul from Keila Elliott went in vain as Barbados Women crashed to a 36-run defeat to Trinidad and Tobago Women in their opening round of the CWI T20 Blaze in St. Vincent this evening.
Playing at Arnos Vale, Elliott took five for 17 to help limit T&T Women to 114 for seven, as Rachael Vincent top-scored with 50.
Chasing 115 for victory, Barbados Women were bowled out for 78 off 17.5 overs, with Kyshona Knight leading on 24 not out as Steffie Soogrim took three wickets.
Barbados Women will take on the Leeward Islands Women in Round Two on Saturday in the 7 p.m. match.
