The Barbados Olympic Association is into it’s platinum jubliee – the celebration of its 70th year of existence.
Celebrations kick off in earnest next month with a range of activities touted as dynamic and diverse by BOA Secretary General Erskine Simmons.
The celebrations will run through to December with some highlighted events being the launch of a mini-documentary on the history of the BOA in May, a celebration of the island’s first Olympic medal from Obadele Thompson in September.
There will be museum tours and other community engagements along the way, culminating with the BOA Annual Awards and Dinner in December.
