Calvin Hope is the new president of the Barbados Cricket Association.
Hope, who was the standing vice president, defeated the three other challengers in a landslide victory.
Last night at the BCA office in Kensington Oval, Hope gathered 158 votes, 90 more than Henderson Wallace who totalled 68. Philo Wallace was next with 57, while Jeff Broomes only got 13.
Hope replaces Conde Riley, who has stepped down from the top post after almost two decades at the helm.
The BCA will now have to convene a special meeting in order to elect a new vice president to replace Hope.
In other positions elected last night, Senator Gregory Nicholls was returned to the position of secretary with 157 votes, beating out Jo-Ann Haynes with 125.
The three board members are: former West Indies cricketer Carlos Brathwaite with 185 votes, Henderson Wallace 142, and Winston Haynes 119.
The other candidates were Kamal Springer with 112 votes, and Dr. Rudolph Alleyne with 84 votes.
