Burger King Clapham Bulls have taken the early lead of the Co-operators General Insurance BABA Premier League finals series, after beating 246 Mobile Shop City United Celtics in game one last night.
Playing at the Barbados Community College (BCC) in a repeat of last year’s final, the defending
champs defeated the Celtics 86-83.
The game was close throughout, as the Bulls were only down 18-16 after the first quarter,
39-38 at halftime, while the score was locked 63-all after the third quarter.
For bulls, Simeon Maynard had a game-high 31 points, while Rasheed Maynard scored 20, and Akeem Marsh a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.
For Celtics, Kiserian Adams had a team-high 19 points, Joel Hunte added a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, Deroni Hurley 12 points, and Theo Greenidge 10.
Game two in the best-of-five finals series is tomorrow at 7 p.m., again at BCC gym.
