Barbadian wrestler Kanye Cumberbatch has fought his way to a gold medal at the USA Beach Nationals & Open Championship in North Carolina.
The 19-year-old Cumberbatch, who represents Barbados while living in the United States, was the winner in the Under-20 Men’s 70kg class.
Cumberbatch also recently represented Barbados at the Under-23 Pan American Championships and the Senior Pan American Beach Wrestling Championships in Querétaro, Mexico.
Last year, he won a silver medal for Barbados at the 2024 Canada Beach Open in Ontario, Canada.
