Cricket West Indies has announced that new elections for the office of vice president will take place on September 20.
The decision follows a meeting of the CWI Board of Directors on August 8, in response to a recent ruling by the High Court of Guyana.
The court ruling addressed a challenge initiated by the Guyana Cricket Board regarding the previous vice presidential election, prompting CWI to call for re-elections.
As a result of this decision, Azim Bassarath has stepped down from his role as vice president.
Per CWI’s articles of association, a special meeting of members will be convened on September 20, solely to elect a new vice president.
