Ipswich have been crowned champions of the 2025 BCA Shield 40-Over competition.
Playing in the rain-affected final at Kensington Oval on Sunday, the Eden Lodge-based team defeated Wanderers by seven wickets.
Sent in to bat, Wanderers were bowled out for 118 off 34.4 runs, in a match reduced to 38 overs. Dominic Hart led the Dayrell’s Road team with 31, while Raphael Lovell and his skipper, Nico Blackman, claimed two wickets each.
Ipswich, in reply, got home on 121 for three from 29.2 overs. They were led by an unbeaten 44 from Larando Best, 40 from Jamar Layne and 30 not out from Stefan Holder. Xavier Springer had a two-wicket haul for Wanderers.
