Barbados were crushed by 200 runs by Jamaica in their opening match of the 2024 CG United Women’s Super-50 Cup in St. Kitts.
Chasing 290 for victory at Warner Park, Barbados were bowled out for just 89 in 37.3 overs, inclusive of four run outs.
Former Windies Captain Stefanie Taylor took 2 for 16 and Vanessa Watts 2 for 24.
Earlier, Taylor slammed 97 as Jamaica won the toss and batting finished on 289 all out in 46.5 overs.
Chinelle Henry was equally as impressive with 94 off 72 balls.
Alliyah Alleyne took three for 24 and Allison Gordon two for 33.
Barbados women will play Trinidad and Tobago women in round two on Wednesday.
In the other 1st round fixtures Guyana women defeated the Leeward Islands Women by 56 runs.
Scores: Guyana 142; Leewards 86 all out.
The Windward Island women were two-wicket winners over Trinidad and Tobago women.
Scores: T&T 185; Windwards 185 for eight.
