National Senior Games day 2 packed with action

May 20, 2024

One record fell on day two in the track and field phase of the 2024 National Senior Games which are being held at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.

It came in the Men’s 40 to 44 high jump, when Andrew Thornhill lept a new height of 1.90 metres, erasing the old record of 1.56 which was set by Charles Miller back in 2018.

Over 260 athletes hailing from Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and Utah have been competing in the three-day track and field events this year.

Organisers are pleased with the registration, crowd support and keen competition.

Today is the final day of the championships, with live coverage resuming on TV8 after Newsnight.
