The Barbados Police Service Northern Division Secondary Schools’ Road Tennis tournament serves off on Monday.
In partnership with the Barbados Road Tennis Association (BRTA), the tournament will feature an “A” and “B” zone with eight schools to compete. The last time the tournament was held was in 2023, and it was during the launch at the Holetown Police Station that the winners from two years ago received their prizes.
Assistant Superintendent of the Northern Division, Carolyn Blackman-Alleyne, who has responsibility for operations, says there are several benefits to staging the tournament, including bridging the gap between the police service and the youth.
President of the BRTA, Frederick Blunt, says the tournament has provided a platform for several young players to progress in the sport.
