As part of the St. Joseph We Gatherin’ activities, Springer’s Community Pillars and The Lodge School provided plenty of entertainment during a special St. Joseph T20 tape ball cricket final, before a heavy downpour forced both teams to share the spoils.
Batting first at the Grantley Adams Memorial School grounds, Springer’s Community Pillars posted 180 for 6 from their allotted overs.
Devon Philips led the scoring with 43 off 27 balls, while Shmario Depeiza added 32 and Jermaine Bullen remained unbeaten on 31.
CBC’s Damien Best reports.
In reply, The Lodge were off to a shaky start at 9 for 2 after two overs, but then the rain brought an end to proceedings and both teams were declared joint champions.
