Round 16 of BRTO packed with action

Several of the fancied men’s players in the Barbados Road Tennis Open 2024 made it through to the round of 16 in the tournament from the Gall Hill, St. John leg.

Former world number one Julian “Michael Jackson” White defeated Dwight Thornhill 21-10, 21-16.

Davien “Force Ripe” Taylor also brushed aside Edwin Ward 21-6, 21-14.

Dario Hinds stopped Deighton “Pa ” Roach 21-14, 21-18; while Darius “Barrackus” Gaskin was simply too strong for Brandon Arrindell brushing him aside 21-9, 21-10.

Meanwhile, former Barbados Open Women’s Champion Kim Holder is also through to the round of 16.

Holder was among the winners when the ladies’ action was on the court at Silver Hill in Christ Church.

The round of 32 will wrap up at Dover tomorrow, with play starting at 6:30 p.m.
