Barbados Royals are into the 2024 Women’s CPL final.
They defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by 17 runs last night, no move to an unassailable six points with only one preliminary match remaining.
Being sent into bat at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad, Royals Women were kept to 101 for 8 off their 20 overs.
Player of the Match Qiana Joseph topscored with 19, while Erin Burns took 3 for 31.
in reply, Warriors women could only muster 84 for 9.
Natasha McClean got the high score of 20, while Skipper Hayley Matthews took 4 for 14, and Jospeh 3 for 16.
The result keeps the defending champs undefeated.
It also makes tonight’s last preliminary game – Royals versus Trinbago Knight Riders – a decider for who will also qualify for Thursday’s final.
Warriors and Knight Riders are tied on two points, with Warriors having a superior net run rate.
If Royals win, then Warriors advance to the final but if Knight Riders win, they’ll move to four points and qualify as the 2nd placed team.
That deciding game will start at 8 p.m. live on MCTV’s Sportsmax channel 310.
It’ll be right after the 3rd and final men’s T20 international between West Indies and South Africa at the same venue which begins at 3 p.m.
