op Barbados quarter-miler Sada Williams has fallen short of qualifying for the final of the Women’s 400 Metre Final at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
Competing in semi-final one Tuesday morning, Williams was fourth in a season’s best time of 50.39 seconds. That clocking put her as the 13th fastest overall from the semis, and it didn’t allow her to advance as either the first two in that heat, nor as one of the two fastest non-automatic qualifiers for the final.
There is one last medal hope for Barbados; Tia Adana-Belle is in Wednesday’s semifinals of the Women’s 400 Metre Hurdles.
Belle will be in the semi-final two, running out of lane two at 8:11 a.m. Barbados time.
