West Indies cricket legend Sir Andy Roberts is calling for the resignation of Cricket West Indies (CWI) President Dr. Kishore Shallow and other key officials, citing what he describes as a grave crisis threatening the future of regional cricket.
Speaking on the Good Morning Jojo Sports Show in Antigua, aired on Observer Radio, Sir Andy sharply criticised the current administration for failing to address serious issues plaguing the sport.
He also took aim at Head Coach Daren Sammy, accusing CWI of giving him too much power by allowing him to serve as both coach and selector, something Sir Andy believes is hurting the game.
His comments follow the West Indies’ disastrous performance in their final Test against Australia, where they were bowled out for just 27 runs in the second innings, the second-lowest total in Test history.
In response to the collapse, CWI has called an emergency meeting to review the series, with invitations extended to cricket legends including Sir Viv Richards, Sir Clive Lloyd, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Desmond Haynes and Brian Lara.
