Prime Minister urged everyone to ‘rally around’ Chase
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has described Roston Chase’s elevation to Windies Test captain as an extraordinary milestone for him and for every Barbadian who believes in discipline, dignity, and quiet determination.
In a statement this evening, the Prime Minister noted that Chase is a man of effort, persistence, and belief, and in many ways, he represents the best of who we are, working hard, staying grounded, and trusting that reward comes not with noise, but with resolve.
Ms. Mottley highlighted the legacy of West Indies captains, noting that Chase is the 10th Barbadian to lead the team.
As Chair of CARICOM, she also urged everyone to rally around.
Chase edged out John Campbell, Tevin Imlach, Joshua Da Silva, Justin Greaves and Jomel Warrican for the top post, while Warrican is his deputy.
