
Barbados’ bid for a medal at the World Indoor Track and Field Championships in Nanjing, China, came to an end today when Nikkolai Kennedy and Kishawna Niles both went out at the semi-final stage of their events.
Kennedy, competing in the Men’s 60 metres Hurdles came out of the heats with a 7.89 seconds clocking, but unfortunately did not finish his semi-final after crashing out at the second hurdle.
He was running out of lane one, with the USA’s Grant Holloway winning the event in a time of 7.42 seconds.
Meanwhile, Kishawna Niles was second in her opening heat of the Women’s 60 metres in a time of 7.22 seconds to go into the semi-finals, but she ended 6th at that stage in a time of 7.32.
The winner was Switzerland’s Mujinga Kambundji in 7.04 seconds.
