Top Barbados club Weymouth Wales have missed out on a semifinal berth in the 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup.
Despite a 2-1 home victory over Jamaica’s Cavalier F.C. at the BFA Turf last night, Wales slipped from second to third place in Group ‘B’.
Armando Lashley opened the scoring in the 10th minute, but Daryl Massicot equalised three minutes later. Rommel Bynoe secured the winner deep into stoppage time, netting in the 90th +3.
Wales finished on seven points, level with Trinidad and Tobago’s Defence Force, who defeated group leaders Cibao of the Dominican Republic 2-0. However, Defence Force advanced on superior goal difference.
Final standings: Cibao 1st (9 points), Defence Force 2nd (7), Wales 3rd (7).
Cibao and Defence Force now move on to the semifinals later this month.
