The West Indies Cricket Umpires Association (WICUA) is aiming to create an international brand of competence.
That’s the plan of recently re-elected president Vivian Johnson, who was speaking during the WICUA 2025 Convention in Trinidad and Tobago.
In an exclusive interview with CBC’s Kim Sealy-Lewis, Mr. Johnson noted that the first order of business will be to continue training regional umpires, with the goal of making them the best in this hemisphere.
As part of the broader strategy, Mr. Johnson also plans to revamp the WICUA website to showcase the skills and potential of regional umpires on a global stage.
The ongoing Regional Umpires Convention wraps up tomorrow, with the next convention scheduled for 2027 in Antigua.
