In the face of criticism over the islands’ debt levels under the Barbados Labour Party, Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Ryan Straughn, says resorting to borrowing was not something the government anticipated.
He addressed concerns during the debate on the Fair Credit Report Bill in Parliament on Tuesday.
In his contribution to the debate, Leader of the Opposition, Bishop Joseph Atherley says the issue of Barbados’ debt is one of concern and unease for the Mia Amor Mottley led administration.
