A flash-flood watch is in effect for Barbados across south-western districts.
A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible.
Residents and visitors should be prepared for the following possibilities:
•Some soil erosion on bared or scarred land surfaces
•Water settlements on roads and fields
•Increases water levels of existing water bodies (e.g ponds etc.)
•Some delays in traffic routes in the area.
This alert message is valid from 11:30 am today, Monday 18 October 2021 and will be terminated at 6:00 pm or sooner if conditions warrant.
