Jamaican reggae star Jah Cure has been sentenced to six years in prison in the Netherlands after being found guilty of attempted manslaughter.
Cure, whose real name is Siccature Alcock, was charged following a stabbing incident involving event promoter Nicardo ‘Papa’ Blake on October 1st, 2021 in Dam Square, Amsterdam.
He was in the city for a performance.
Officials in the Netherlands say the 43 year old’s claim of self-defence was rejected by the court.
Jah Cure’s legal team may opt to appeal the ruling, and have a 2 week window to do so.
He previously served an 8 year sentence for rape, after being convicted in 1999.
