Small craft advisory in effect

A small-craft advisory is in effect for Barbados.

It has been issued as sustained winds of 20 to 25 knots and sea swells of 2.5 to 3.0 metres (8 to 10 feet) are forecast to affect the marine area within the next 48 hours.

Small craft advisory is for above-normal swell heights in this area. All marine craft operators and beachgoers should note the following possibilities along the coast and near the shore of this zone, due to the imminent or already occurring marine threat: large open water swells can be hazardous to some vessels in this case eastern and southern marine areas. Operation of smaller vessels can be difficult at times due to large swells.

This alert message is valid from 6 PM Sunday 26th June 2022 and will be updated at 6 PM Monday 27th June 2022 or sooner if
conditions warrant.
