Young Barbadians are among those being celebrated across the globe as we mark International Youth Day today.
On the local front, youth advocates intend to use the day to continue their push for the implementation of a School Nutrition Policy.
Youth Advocate, Pierre Cooke, says the call is for governments to work with them to implement policies which lead to healthier choices and mitigate the likelihood of children developing NCDs.
Admitting a cultural shift will be necessary, he reveals the Heart and Stroke Foundation has been working with stakeholders in the education system to sensitise them on healthier alternatives.
