Government debt repayment to start in September

Government will soon start the repayment process four years after undertaking sweeping debt restructuring.

The revelation from Minister in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Ryan Straughn, as he calls on Barbadians to help finance Government’s programmes by purchasing bonds under the BOSS Plus scheme.

Mr. Straughn explains under the debt restructuring programme, Government was granted a four year moratorium on repayment of the principle debt.

However, that comes to an end on September 30th this year.
