The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association is calling for the removal of this country’s mask mandate, except in high risk situations.
BHTA Chairman, Renee Coppin made the appeal during the organisation’s Third Quarterly Meeting last evening.
She says while Barbados is being impacted by a number of external threats including the war in Ukraine, there are some issues which threaten hopes for a rebound of the sector.
According to her, statistics in the region show that countries which have relaxed COVID-19 protocols have not had any worst health outcomes when compared to Barbados, but have seen significantly better progress in tourism.
