The Government of Barbados is receiving help from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to bolster its cybersecurity protection.
Minister of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology Davidson Ishmael, speaking to CBC News in light of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) being hacked and defence in this area generally, says they are partnering with them at a good time.
He notes that cybersecurity is an area requiring constant monitoring because one could have a strong architecture and still face cyber incidents.
Minister Ishmael said the incident at the QEH pointed out the vulnerabilities in the institution’s system.
