Barbados defeated Pacific Oceania 3-2 this evening after a titanic battle in their World Group Two play-off 1st round tie at the Tennis Centre in Wildey.
In the decisive fifth match, Barbadian Kaipo Marshall came from a set down to get pass Clement Mainguy 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 for the first Davis Cup Singles win of his career.
The 20-year-old secured five break points en route the victory, in a match that lasted two hours and 18 minutes.
Earlier today, the rubber was locked at 2-all after Darian King overcame Colin Sinclair in the 1st reverse singles match, to win 7-6, 6-3.
Before that, the doubles team of Brett Baudinet and Sinclair conquered the Bajans to take the lead.
