Consumers are reacting to the news of a continued reduction in electricity bills after Minister in the Ministry of Finance Ryan Straughn announced in the House of Assembly on Tuesday that Government will continue to shave 10% off the Value Added Tax or VAT.
Usually 17.5%, Government has been easing people’s pockets by keeping VAT for domestic usage of electricity at 7.5% since the beginning of August last year, and will keep it that way at least until September.
