Barbados is engaging with the Canadian energy company, Emera, in the hopes a potential partnership could alleviate the vexing issue of securing batteries for solar photovoltaic systems.
This from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kerrie Symmonds, at the second Canada-Caribbean Institute symposium entitled, ‘Decoloniality: Past, Present, and Future Directions’.
The event was held at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus.
Minister Symmonds says countries of the world are moving as one in the direction of renewable energy and orders from small countries like Barbados are not given priority.
