Government Senator, Lorenzo Harewood believes there are lessons for Barbados from an ambitious project in Kenya to improve electricity access across the African country.
That country has been successful in using off-grid renewable energy through the Forgotten Miles Village Initiative – a programme he says Barbados can replicate.
Barbadians were privy to more information on the Forgotten Miles project from two representatives, on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
Leader and Economist, Kaikai Naipamei says the project assisted many communities in overcoming challenges due to the lack of electricity.
