More support for casino gambling

The idea of embracing casino gambling to make Barbados more attractive as a tourist destination is getting even more support tonight.

The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) sees merit in the recent suggestion by Tourism Minister Ian Gooding-Edghill that casino gambling may help to enhance the island’s appeal to visitors.

In an interview with CBC News following a visit to the Corporation’s Pine offices along with new BHTA CEO Ryan Forde, BHTA Chairman Renee Coppin weighed in on the issue, which has been generally receiving the thumbs up from Barbadians. And CEO Forde adds that it is a conversation that needs to take place again.
