The Inter American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) wants agriculture to be seen as part of the solution to addressing environmental challenges confronting Barbados and the region.
The recommendation is among 16 drawn up ahead of the planned United Nations Food Systems Summit.
Caribbean Ministers of Agriculture meanwhile are slated to meet virtually for the 16th Caribbean Week of Agriculture set for October 4th to 8th.
Deputy Director of IICA, Lloyd Day says topics of importance to the region will be tackled.
