Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anton Best is reminding Barbadians that COVID-19 is still very much around, despite the fact that the World Health Organisation yesterday declared that the virus is officially no longer a global public health emergency.
Speaking to CBC News, Dr. Best says while it is no longer a public health emergency, it is still important for people to practice good hand hygiene and to further protect themselves against the virus by getting vaccinated.
He adds that the Ministry is still continuing its COVID-19 vaccine programme but there is currently a limited supply of vaccines, as efforts continue to secure more.
