The skies over Barbados darkened on Monday, dumping heavy rains on the island, particularly Speightstown… Perhaps signalling an end to recent drought conditions.
The change in weather prompted the Barbados Meteorological Services to issue a flood and severe thunderstorm watch and it came as a result of a mid to upper-level trough.
The resultant flooding created challenges for commuters in the northern town, Merletta Johnson is one of them.
Some people in the area believe Monday’s flooding could have been avoided.
