Agricultural Minister Indar Weir says while he supports vending, those selling coconuts on the highway need to operate in a safe and sanitary way.
Minister Weir says this was part of the intention behind legislation paving the way for vending zones off the highways. This he says will ensure that unsightly pileups of coconut shells along the roadways become a thing of the past.
Minister Weir made the remark today during a church service at the St. Martins Anglican Church in honour of the newly elected St. Philip South Constituency Branch Executive Of The Barbados Labour Party. Newly elected president of the BLP’s St. Philip South Constituency Branch Andrew Glasgow, says they will be looking to work more closely with the community.
