One local educator is suggesting the lack of values and vision in schools in Barbados and the Caribbean impacts our young people most.
Stephen Jackman – the former president of the Barbados Association of Principals of Public Secondary Schools – says this island has been grappling with a spate of shootings and violence by young people.
He believes in order for the Caribbean to reach the vision of peace and prosperity, it has to begin with the next generation.
Mr. Jackman was speaking at the Strengthening Values Education International Conference at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre. It is being hosted by the Sai Institute of Education-West Indies, the Institute of Sathya Sai Education-USA, and the Canadian Institute of Sathya Sai Education.
