The public is advised that natural gas supplies in Fairchild and Nelson Streets in the CIty have been turned off, as the National Petroleum Corporation carries out safety checks.
In a statement, Acting General Manager Mechelle Smith says after being notified of a fire in the proximity of a natural gas pipeline in the area this morning, the NPC responded.
She says gas supplies have been shut off out of an abundance of caution and once their safety checks are completed, the gas will be restored and the public updated accordingly.
