CMC – The Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) Friday issued an interim notice announcing the temporary suspension in the exchange of Trinidad and Tobago dollars at its banking counter.
The BOJ said that it wanted to inform the public that the existing arrangement for the Central Bank to repatriate Trinidad and Tobago banknotes is currently under review.
It said that as of Monday, November 6, the exchange of Trinidad and Tobago dollars at BOJ’s banking counter is suspended until further advised.
The BOJ, which is also the country’s Central Bank, gave no specific reason for the review and that this temporary suspension will remain in effect until further notice.
